2020 KGSP (Korean Government Scholarship Program) student recruitment
[Purpose]
To provide international students with an opportunity to conduct advanced studies at higher educational institutions in Korea, To develop global leaders and strengthen Korea-friendly networks worldwide.
[Undergraduate Program Scholarship Period and Qualifications]
Scholarship Period: 5 years (Korean Language 1 year + Undergraduate Progra, 4 years)
Qualifications Prospective applicants must meet the following qualification criteria;
- Must be a citizen of the country to which the scholarship is offered, which also applies to the applicants' parents
- Have graduated or will be scheduled to graduate from high school as of March 1st of the invitation year- Must possess above 80% (out of 100%) cumulative grade point average (CGPA), or must be within the top 20% (out of 100%) in rank in high school.

September. 16~ October. 4. 2019 [Application Submission] | [1st ROUND] Applicants submit the application documents to Hoseo University. Deadline : Oct. 4 (Fri.) |
October. 7. ~ 23 [Evaluation and Interview] | Hoseo University conducts the first round of selection. The evaluation and the interviews on applicants will be proceeded. |
October. 25 [Selection of students - 1st round | Hoseo University will announce the result of the first round of selection on Hoseo University Notice board on http://eng.hoseo.ac.kr. http://eng.hoseo.ac.kr/Home/BBSList.mbz?action=MAPP_1709050255&schCategorycode=CTG_17090500025 |
November. 4 | Hoseo University forwards the application documents of the selected candidates to NIIED. |
November. 7 ~ 18 | [2ND ROUND] NIIED conducts the second round of selection through a selection committee. NIIED announces the result of the second round of selection on the GKS Notice board on www.studyinkorea.go.kr. Candidates who pass the second round must submit the passport copy and the certificate of health (FORM 7) to the university by December 4, 2019. |
January. 9, 2020 | NIIED announces the final successful candidates on the GKS Notice board on www.studyinkorea.go.kr. |
Early February | University informs the scholars of their scheduled entry to Korea. Scholars must check their entry flight itinerary and make preparations to enter Korea. |
Late February | Entry to Korea |
※ NOTES
Applicants must follow the NIIED’s regulations throughout the application procedure.
Applicants must write ONE university of their choice in the Forms 1, 4 and 5. Applicants must choose only ONE department (or major) in the field of natural science or engineering, as listed on the “University Information”.
Certificate of Graduation of High School must get a legalization stamp from Korean Embassy in your country to prove the certificate is the authentic copy. If your country is a member of Apostille, please get Apostille Legalization on the certificate.
